Associates and Faculty are the lynchpins in the teaching and learning environment within the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
Being experts, you engage, inspire, and enable our students to apply the knowledge and skills that they learn. Recognising that teaching is enriching and at times challenging, the Teaching & Learning Centre (TLC) supports you with a range of professional development dialogues, workshops and resources to develop and deepen your teaching expertise.

In order to be deployed to teach and develop courses at SUSS, you’ll need to complete the mandatory courses below, based on the role(s) you’ll play. These modules provide contextual knowledge and skills you require to operate effectively in the SUSS organisational environment.
Learn MoreThroughout the year, TLC organises workshops and talks to introduce you to a range of teaching methods and tools that would help you facilitate your students’ learning more effectively.
Learn MoreBoth AFs and full-time Faculty will be eligible to be considered for the SUSS Award for Teaching Excellence. External vendors will also be considered for the Teaching Award if they have undertaken the required training established for AFs.
Learn MoreTo further nurture and build this culture of informed practice, we’re launching the Innovative Seed Grant in July 2014. The aim is to encourage associate faculty members who have taught at SUSS for at least two semesters to explore innovative approaches to teaching (which may include the incorporation of technology), with the view to improving our students’ learning and enhancing their learning experience.
Learn MoreSince 2012, schools have been nominating one associate each year to be its Associate Faculty Champion. Working closely with TLC faculty, the AFCs shape and implement their pedagogical inquiry in their courses over the period of a calendar year. The data collected are systematically analysed and evaluated, resulting in concrete recommendations to improve the course delivery and students’ learning. These projects have yielded tangible initiatives and improvements at the course- and programme-level.
