Dr. Alexandros Papaspyridis is the Tertiary Education Industry Director for the Asia region of Microsoft, which covers India, Greater China Region, Asia Pacific, Australia and Japan. His focus is the Digital Transformation of Higher Education to enable the future student cohorts prosper in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Key priorities are research transformation through the cloud and helping Universities leverage AI.
Dr. Papaspyridis holds a PhD in Electronics Engineering, a Master’s in Management and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, London. He also holds the Microsoft Professional Program certificate in Artificial Intelligence. He has been with Microsoft since 2008 holding various positions in business development and sales across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa and in Asia Pacific Japan. Prior to Microsoft he has worked in Information Technology and telecom companies and has founded two startups.
He is a member of the Industrial Liaison Boards at the Dept of Computing and Dept of Electrical Engineering at Imperial College and he has conducted research on innovation ecosystems and startups.
